NEW YORK: Walmart is offering a one-day deal on the first-generation iPad mini, the company said Friday.
For Friday only, online customers who order the iPad mini 16 GB in black/space gray or white/silver can get it for $199 shipped or to be picked up in store. The version is not the latest iPad mini, but rather the non-Retina display model that Apple sells for $249.
Apple last month unveiled the iPad mini 3. That device comes with the same 7.9-inch screen as the one available in the Walmart deal, but offers a higher-resolution Retina display, Touch ID, and updated internal components. Walmart is offering the first-generation version in Wi-Fi only that came out in fall 2012.
