HANOI: Vietnam exported 52,035 mt of natural rubber in February, surging 33% from 39,118 mt in the same month last year, data released Monday by Vietnam Customs showed.
The exports in February were worth $57.7 million, up 4.2% on year. The average export price of Vietnamese natural rubber in February was estimated at $1,250/mt, down 19.2% on year, the Vietnam Rubber Association said in a statement in late February.
Vietnam will continue to not levy any export duty on natural rubber in 2016. The government had removed the tax from October 2014 to assist exporters as prices were falling. It was 1% previously, according to the VRA.
