WORCESTER: Vice detectives seized more than a kilo of cocaine and 175 grams of heroin Friday from a Worcester apartment, said police.
Around 6:30 a.m., police saw a man they have been investigating, Ramon Valerio, exit his apartment and get into a Lexus. The license plate on the Lexus had been revoked, so officers stopped the vehicle and had Valerio return to the apartment for a search warrant.
Vice Squad officers entered the apartment and said they found a large amount of illegal drugs. Police allegedly seized 1.6 kilos of cocaine, with a street value of about $128,000, 175 grams of heroin with a street value of $17,500 and about $77,000 in cash.
Another man in the apartment, 36-year-old Miguel Serrano, along with Valerio was arrested. Police also seized a 2006 BMW, which Serrano would drive.
Serrano was charged with conspiracy to violate controlled substance laws, trafficking in heroin 100-199 grams, trafficking in cocaine over 200 grams, furnishing a false name and fugitive from justice warrant.
Valerio, 42, was charged with trafficking in heroin 100-199 grams and trafficking in cocaine over 200 grams.
