TEXAS: US Border Patrol agents from the Rio Grande Valley Sector seized more than 680 pounds of marijuana.
The seizure occurred when Rio Grande City agents observed numerous individuals moving north from the Rio Grande carrying bundles of narcotics. When the agents identified themselves, the smugglers dropped the bundles and fled south back to Mexico. After a thorough search of the area, agents seized 10 bundles of marijuana worth an estimated $540,000.
