KIEV: In the current season grain exports from Ukraine are higher than last one. Since the beginning of 2015/16 marketing year Ukraine has exported 20 MMT of grain, which is 18% more than during the same period last year.
Over six months of the season Ukraine exported nearly 10.33 MMT of wheat. The exports were 31% higher than last season when Ukraine shipped abroad 7.9 MMT owing to 9% growth of wheat production in 2015 (UkrAgroConsult estimate), as well as growth and consolidation of Ukrainian role on the world market.
As for barley, this season Ukraine is unlikely to export more barley than last marketing year. In July-December barley exports from Ukraine amounted to 3542 KMT that was 5% less than over the same period last season. UkrAgroConsult expects barley exports will amount to 4 MMT this season.
More information on geography of grain exports is available in weekly reports “Agrinews, Kiev”, “Black Sea Grain & Oil” and “Online market review” by UkrAgroConsult.
