KIEV: Ukraine continues actively increasing the rates of export supplies of wheat flour on the Asian market. Thus, during 2 months of 2015/16 MY, Ukraine exported nearly 51 thsd tonnes of wheat flour, an increase of 2.1 times compared with the same period of 2014/15 MY (24.1 thsd tonnes).
In the beginning of the current season, China (nearly 13 thsd tonnes of flour, or 24% of the general exports), South Korea (7.2 thsd tonnes, or 14%) and North Korea (7.1 thsd tonnes, or 14%) became the main importers of the Ukrainian commodity. Thus, the share of flour exports to the reporting countries totaled 52% of the general exports of flour from Ukraine.
According to APK-Inform analysts, in 2015/16 MY the export potential of Ukrainian wheat flour totals 260 thsd tonnes, while Asian countries will keep the position of key customers of the specified commodity during the whole season. In terms of continuation of the high rates of flour supplying, the forecast on export volumes would be increased. At the same time, the raw material quality and availability of wheat volumes of the required conditions on the domestic market, can somewhat slow down the exports of flour from Ukraine.
