ASHTON VALE: Thousands of pounds of cocaine and cash have been seized from a house in Ashton Vale.
Police searched the property in Silbury Road this morning after a tip-off from the local community.
Officers found around 300g of suspected cocaine, just over £2,000 in cash and a hydraulic press, all of which have been seized.
A 19-year-old woman who lives at the house has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply, and conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.
She is currently in custody at Keynsham.
Police are also looking for two other people who live at the address.
PC David Carpenter who carried out the search said: “We were led to this house by the local community, whose information directly led to a significant amount of suspected Class A drugs, destined for local streets, being seized.
“These types of issues are not always in the areas you associate with drugs, so it’s worth keeping your eyes and ears open.
“If you notice anything suspicious, such as people coming and going from a property, or people seemingly having come into money, coming home with new and expensive looking items, then please let us know so we can check it out.”
