KARACHI: The Federal Customs Authority (FCA) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has signed a technical cooperation agreement with its Sri Lankan counterpart Sri Lanka Customs (SRC).
The agreement was signed by the International Relations Department of the FCA, Saud Salem al-Aqrouby and Additional Director of SRC, S. Rajendra,in the presence of Director General SRC Jagath Wijeweers in Colombo during the visit of a UAE delegation. Aqrouby that the agreement would help UAE and Sri Lanka Customs authorities share experiences and help enhance economic cooperation as well as mutual trade. The exchange of information about customs shipments between the two countries would also help eradicate illegal trade practices, he added.
Director General FCA Khalid Ali Al Bustani has hailed the signing of the bilateral Customs agreement saying that promoting cooperation with trade partners helps local economies maximize added value by exchanging information and experience about customs shipments which in turn promotes customs risk management between the UAE and its trade partners.
