SIALKOT: The Travel Agents’ Association in Gujranwala Division has urged the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to take stern action against travel agents directly or indirectly involved in sending people abroad illegally by extorting heavy amounts from them.
Travel Agents’ Association President Ch Manzur Ahmed, Senior Vice-President Qamar Zaman Ranjha, General Secretary Khurram Bhatti and Finance Secretary Haji Muhammad Idrees said that travel agents involved in human trafficking should be brought to justice, as they were earning a very bad name for other travel agents.
They said that 150 registered travel agencies were working actively in the Gujranwala Division, but several people were running their agencies without getting the relevant licences by the government. They said that such people were involved in human trafficking and financial scams as well.
They urged the customers to see the licence of the travel agency first to avoid any mishap.
