KARACHI: Country wide strike of All Pakistan Goods Transport Association (APGTA) has created an alarming situation after the sea ports activities has badly got disturbed.
According to the details, the country wide situation is posing threat as the All Pakistan Goods Transport Association strike has entered the second day over the demands which have not been addressed till yet by the government authorities.
The goods transporters have been asking the government to surely implement the law of Axel Load which was decided by the by government itself and to restrict the highway authorities not to impose huge penalties to the drives.
Now on the second day of Country wide strike of All Pakistan Goods Transport Association has become worsen as transporters of the Afghan Transit Trade as well as the All Karachi Tyre Association has joined the hands with the protestants.
The President of the All Pakistan Goods Transport Association has stated that transportation of different goods items have been halted from both Karachi Port Trust (KPT) and Port Muhammad Bin Qasim (PQA) of the city.
It is pertinent to mention here that country wide three lac small and big trucks are taking part in the strike where as seventeen thousand heavy vehicles transports different goods item from Karachi to other parts of the country on daily basis.
Governor Sindh Imran Ismail held meeting and requested the All Pakistan Goods Transport Association to postpone the strike for ten days so that issues can be addressed but the protestants refused to accepts it saying until the demands are not fulfilled that strike will not be stopped at any cause.
