TOKYO: Tokyo stocks rose 0.74 percent Tuesday to a fresh 15 year high as a weaker yen lifted the market ahead of US Federal Reserve chief Janet Yellen’s Congressional testimony and a Greek reform package critical to an extension of its bailout.
The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange ended up 136.56 points at 18,603.48, while the Topix index of all first-section issues rose 0.36 percent, or 5.45 points, to 1,508.28.
