TOKYO: Tokyo stocks rose 0.22 percent Tuesday morning after solid gains on Wall Street and as the yen tumbled against the dollar, boosting exporters.
The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange gained 41.09 points to 18,831.64 by the break, while the Topix index of all first-section shares added 0.10 percent, or 1.46 points, to 1,533.22.
