TOKYO: Tokyo stocks fell in early trading Monday as investors locked in earlier gains after Japan’s industrial output marked a narrower gain in October than most market forecasts.
In the first 15 minutes of trading, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average fell 121.38 points, or 0.61 percent, from Friday to 19,762.56. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 11.06 points, or 0.69 percent, to 1,583.39.
