LAHORE: The Punjab government has okayed Rs9,519.201 million (over Rs9.5 billion) worth of three development projects of Irrigation Department.
The projects were approved in the 21st meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) of the current fiscal year 2015-16, presided over by P&D Board Punjab Chairman Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan.
P&D Provincial Secretary Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, members of the planning & development board, concerned provincial secretaries and other senior representatives of the relevant provincial departments also attended the meeting.
According to the P&D spokesman, the approved projects include Greater Thal Canal Project-Phase-II (Chaubara Branch) at the cost of Rs6,261.701 million, Land Acquisition for Jalalpur Irrigation Project at the cost of Rs3,092.500 million and Acquisition of Consultancy Services for PPMS, Baseline, Post Completion Survey/ Assessment and GIS Enabled Integrated MIS Development for Flood Emergency Reconstruction and Resilience Project-ADB Assisted (PC-II) at a cost of Rs165.000 million.
