LAHORE: Department of Inland Revenue (IR) arranged a seminar to promote as well as create understanding of the provision of Tax Amnesty Scheme 2018, for the tax Advisors and the taxpayers. Member Inland Revenue Operations Habib Ullah Khan chaired the meeting which was attended by office bearers of Lahore & Sheikhupura Tax Bar as well as the taxpayers community.
Chief Commissioner CRTO, Syed Nadeem Hussain Rizvi, welcomed the chief guest and all other participants.
Addressing the participants Member IR deliberated upon the essence and the provision of the Tax Amnesty Scheme. He appreciated the role of taxpayers, tax consultants and the work force of department for the success of the Tax Amnesty Scheme witnessed till date which has seen deposit of around Rs93 billion into government treasury during a very short span of time.
The FBR Member informed the participants that a lot of strenuous efforts were made by the senior management of the FBR in getting the cut of date of the scheme extended for another 30 days, after observing the keen interest of the taxpayers against the time limitation of run of scheme which, though introduced earlier was given boost after the endorsement of August Supreme Court of Pakistan.
Member IR told the advisers and consultants to apprise their clients the olden benefits of Tax Amnesty Scheme for their good as well as for the success of the scheme so that every stake holder emerges as winner out of it. He categorically stated that the last date of filing declarations is 31st of July and there is no chance of its further extension.
Thereafter, the FBR Member invited questions and issues, regarding the scheme from the participating tax consultants and taxpayer. A good number of questions were asked which were ably replied by the Respected Member whereas some of the questions were answered by focal person team headed by Ms. Ayesha Imran Butt, Commissioner.
