TAIPEI: Taiwan recorded total export value of US$22.06 billion for December 2015, decreasing 0.3% on month and 13.9% on year, while the corresponding total import value of US$17.89 billion fell 7.7% on month and 15.6% on year, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Finance (MOF) here the other day.
The on-year drop in December export value was the 11th consecutive decline.
Among different categories of Taiwan-made products, electronics had the largest export value at US$7.815 billion in December, growing 0.7% on month but slipping 7.3% on year.
The total export value of US$280.48 billion and total import value of US$228.92 billion for 2015 dropped 10.6% and 16.5% respectively on year.
