KARACHI: Pakistani entrepreneurs should diversify their business by visiting foreign countries in order to open new avenues for their products.
This was stated by the Consul General of Switzerland in Karachi, Emil Wyss, while speaking at a luncheon hosted by Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) President Rashid Siddiqu in his honour.
On the occasion, Switzerland Consul General said that the bilateral trade between those two countries stands at a modest figure of US$749 million but it could be multiplied through effective measures.
He further said that the Government of Pakistan has improved its image abroad due to the recent efforts to control law and order situation and resumption of international cricket at its home grounds; adding that those are the good signs in order to restore the confidence of foreign investors on Pakistan.
Rashid Ahmed Siddiqui, President, KATI said that Pakistani businessmen have great potential to multiply the volume of bilateral trade between the two countries from the present level of around US$749million.
President KATI further said that the Switzerland is fifth largest country in terms of foreign direct investment in Pakistan; adding that many Swiss companies are successfully operating in various sectors including energy, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, food, quality testing and machinery.
Highlighting KATI, he said that it was the largest industrial zone in Pakistan representing over 4,500 industrial units and contributing Rs300million as revenue per day to the national exchequer.
