LAHORE: Negotiations between the Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) and the Pakistan Fashion Designing Council (PFDC) on the issue of sales tax have concluded on a positive note.
According to the sources, the PDFC demanded the revenue officials stop raids on their display centers and the tax registration procedure should also be simplified.
PFDC chairman Hassan Sharyar said that the PRA has them that it will try its best to make sales tax procedure easy for taxpayers.
Earlier Assistant Commissioner PRA Aysha Ranjha raided dozens of fashion outlets, gyms and beauty parlours in posh areas of the city to recover sales tax from them. Sources said that many outlets were sealed while heavy fine was imposed on the others, following which a number of outlets owners contacted the sales tax authorities for their registration.
