KARACHI: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has granted pre-arrest interim bail to three suspects who were booked for their alleged involvement in export of gold worth billions of rupees on fake E-forms.
Judge Syed Faiz Rasool Rashdi approved the bail for suspects Sajid Abdul Qadir, Irfan and Muhammad Shahid against surety bond of Rs 500,000 each in five cases. The court adjourned the hearing of the cases until October 15.
Earlier, the Sindh High Court granted a three-day protective bail to the suspects to surrender before the trial court after it issued non-bailable warrants for their arrest.
According to the details of the cases, the customs authorities had registered five cases against exporters, including Saani Impex, BD Enterprises and Rubab Corporation, Makkah Enterprises, M/s Reaz Corporation for exporting gold worth billions of rupees on fake E-Forms, causing huge losses to the national exchequer.
