KARACHI: Senior Vice President Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Mr. Abdul Rahim Janoo said, Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena’s visit to Pakistan would enhance economic cooperation & trade linkages between the two countries,while welcoming him to Karachi Airport on behalf of FPCCI.
The Srilankan President invited the Business Community including FPCCI to visit his country in delegations for availing investment opportunities in Srilanka. He said since long Srilanka and Pakistan are enjoying pleasant bilateral relationship. These good relations have benefited both countries especially in social, economic, education, cultural and technical sectors.
He added that Srilanka have huge market of sugar, rice, cement and there are other numerous investment opportunities available in construction, electronics, software development, food processing and preservation, dairy products, Liquefied Petroleum Gas cylinders and storage tanks, mineral mining, handicrafts, gem and jewelry and livestock breeding.
By accepting the invitation with gratitude the Senior Vice President of FPCCI, said that the FPCCI is committed to increase trade volume between two countries especially in the presence of various opportunities available in field of education, culture, science and technology, tourism etc.
While discussing with the Srilankan trade minister he emphasized for the joint working of National Chambers and also discussed pertaining to the visit of FPCCI delegation to Srilanka.
By sharing his views the Vice President FPCCI Mr. Shahnawaz Ishtiaq said that the business community of two countries should keep work on exploring opportunities of investments.
On that occasion the chief minister Sindh and senior education minister were also present and appreciated the role of business community to increase Pak-Srilankan trade linkages
