MADRID: The Spanish subsidiary of DHL Supply Chain will launch a new service to export fruits and vegetables to China.
This new export service aims to simplify the logistics operations for companies in the Spanish fruit and vegetable sector, following the agreement signed between the Ministry of Agriculture and the Chinese authorities that will allow the export of stonefruit to this country.
Powered by Grupag, the business unit at DHL Supply Chain Iberia that specialises in the transport of fruit and vegetables, the service covers the entire life cycle of the supply chain for fresh stonefruit, from its origin in Spain to its final destination in China.
Some of the services offered include temperature control and monitoring during all stages of the supply process to protect the cold chain and maintain the natural texture and properties of the horticultural product; the consolidation and loading of goods for export to China; transport by sea or by air to Shanghai and the unloading and delivery of the goods at destination, including the customs management, fiscal representation and handling of documentation.
