MULTAN: Hearing of Saim Mobeen SM Food Maker Company’s miss declaration case of 4.7 million is adjourned till 2nd February. The Customs Adjudication has taken the extension of period for the decision of the miss declaration in import items from Austria. The duration of SM Food Maker Company’s case crossed 120 days so the customs adjudication took the extension period for the decision of the case from collector.
The accused party S.M is using delaying tactics in the hearing of miss declaration case by filing various applications in the case and the accused have also filed writ petition against the action of Customs Intelligence and Investigation. SM Company owner Chaudhry Zulfiqar Anjum and company Manager Waseem Shehzad are facing charges of miss-declaration of their imported steel iron rods used in the baking of their biscuits.
Customs Intelligence & Investigation has registered a case against the company for allegedly evading customs duty of Rs 4.7 million through miss declaration of their imported goods by presenting invoice of 12,700 euro instead of 127,000 euro. In case of decision against them, both the accused will have to submit 4.7 million in the Special Customs Court Lahore.
