SINGAPORE: Singapore stocks opened marginally lower on Thursday following a retreat overnight in US equities, with the Straits Times Index slipping by 0.31 per cent or 8.73 points to 2,852.46 as at 9.04am.
China Environment, which was Wednesday’s most actively traded stock, remained atop the actives table, gaining 3.5 per cent or 0.3 Singapore cent to 8.9 Singapore cent as at 9.05am.
Among the index stocks, DBS Group Holdings eased 0.5 per cent or nine Singapore cent to change hands at S$16.42.
About 67.7 million shares worth S$68.7 million had traded as at 9.04am.
Losers outnumbered gainers 75 to 51, or about three down for every two up.
