Karachi: MV Martorell carrying 114 vehicles from Japan is expected to call on Karachi Port on August 15. The continuous influx of completely built units (CBU) has become a major source of concerns for local auto industry due to drastic decline in demand primarily owing to rising inflation and reducing purchase power.
Weakening of rupee against dollar is the primary reason behind price inflation affecting the cost of imports as well.
Meanwhile gearless container Hong Master, carrying general cargo arrived at Karachi port today while another gearless container Selin M is expected to arrive on August 14.
According to KPT, two oil tankers namely Rekon and TDT-2 are expected to arrive today.
