KARACHI:Seven ships, New Ark, MSC Asya, Maersk Columbus, Bravo-V, Inlaco Bright, Maritime Satoshio and Al-Ajnan scheduled to load/offload Containers, Wheat, Coal and LNG were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and Engro Elengy Terminal respectively during last 24 hours, said a report issued by Port Qasim Authority (PQA) here on Wednesday. Meanwhile three more ships, Contilyon, CTG Cobalt and Kaimon Galaxy carrying Containers and Palm oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. A total of eleven ships namely, New Ark, MSC Asya, Maersk Columbus, Inlaco Bright, MG Hammond, Bravo-V, Johanna Oldendroff, Maritime Satoshio, Al-Ajnan, Unique Harmony and Omera Queen are currently occupying PQA berths to load/offload Containers, Wheat, Soya Bean Seeds, Coal, Palm oil and Furnace oil respectively. A cargo volume of 185,729 tonnes, comprising 163,936 tonnes import cargo and 21,793 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,540 Containers (TEUs), (2,393 TEUs imports and 1,147 TEUs exports) was handled at the port. M.V Johanna Oldendroff sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while another ship M.T Omera Queen is expected to sail on same day in the afternoon. Three ships, Contilyon, Euro Strength and YM Miranda carrying Containers, Furnace oil and Chemicals are expected to take berths at QICT, FOTCO and EVTL respectively on Wednesday.
