KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the Port where three ships, Maersk Kingston, CMA CGM Narmada and CSAV Tyndall carrying containers took berths at Qasim International Container Terminal.
A total of nine ships namely, Maersk Kingston, CMA CGM Narmada, CSAV Tyndall, Genava, Dazi Yun, Sakizaya Wisdom, Pacific Victory, Epxress and Corona are currently occupying berths to load/offload Containers, Rice, General Cargo, Soya Been Seeds, Coal, LNG and Palm oil during last 24 hours.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 152,374 tonnes, comprising 115,212 tonnes import cargo and 37,162 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 4,604 containers (TEUs), (3,000 TEUs imports and 1,604 TEUs exports) was handled at the port.
M.T Corona sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while two more ships, M.V Pacific Victory and C.V Maersk Kingston are expected to sail in the afternoon.
Two ships, Chemroad Journey and Tiger Pioneer carrying 28,005 tonnes Palm oil and 37,983 tonnes Coal are expected to take berths at Liquid Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal’s Berth # 4 respectively on Wednesday.
While a Container Vessel ‘Priority’ is due to arrive at Port Qasim on Thursday and three Container vessels, Torrente, CMA CGM Georgia and GH Chinook are due to arrive on Friday.
