KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has adjourned the hearing of a contempt application filed by M/s Pakistan Mobile Communication Limited against Abdul Ghani, the Director Advertisement District Municipal Corporation East and others, for allegedly violating court order over impugned notice of survey of advertisement display and moving tax collation.
The hearing was fixed before a division bench, comprising Justice Munib Akhter and Justice Abdul Malik Gaddi. However, it could not taken up due to shortage of time court. The court adjourned the hearing for date which would be announced according to roaster.
In the last hearing, the counsel for petitioner had submitted that court had restrained the respondents from adopting any coercive measures for the recovery till further order but on May 21, 2016 the contemnors, without issuing any notice had removed the sign boards of services centre of the Mobilik Company situated at Gulshan-e-Iqbal.
The counsel argued that respondents had deliberately disobeyed the order of the SHC passed on September 15, 2014. After the arguments, the court had issued notice to the alleged contemnor Abdul Ghan and called them in person along with record.
Earlier, the petitioner’s counsel stated that respondents issued notice to the petitioner in July 2013 for the year 2013/201regarding the subject of survey of advertising display for the year 2013/2014 with direction to provide paid challan advertisement fee for the year 2013/2014.
