KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has sought comments from law officer of the Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) on an appeal filed by Hyderi Nehari House against SRB for allegedly asking it for registration and imposing penalty. A division bench of the SHC headed by Justice Munib Akhter was hearing the appeal. During the hearing, the counsel for the SRB requested for some time to submit its comments.
Earlier, the counsel for the applicant stated that officials of the SRB issued notice to the applicant on May 5, 2012, asking for e-registration/ e-enrolment with SRB.
According to the applicant, it challenged the said notice before the competent authorities but without considering the same, the adjudication proceedings were culminate into an adverse order for compulsory registration under section 24B of the 2011 act on September 25, 2014.
According to Hyderi Nehari House, a penalty of Rs 100,000 was also imposed on it. The counsel stated that its appeal was dismissed by the Appellate Tribunal. However,the penalty of Rs 100,000 was reduced to Rs 50,000.
