KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday adjourned the hearing of a petition filed by Al -Abbas Fabrics (Private) Limited against Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and others for allegedly depriving it of the facility of zero-rated sales tax in gas bills.

A two-member bench, comprising Justice Munib Akhter and Justice Abdul Malik Gaddi was hearing the application.

Earlier, the petitioner’s counsel stated that the company has strictly complied with all the provisions of all the applicable laws of the country.

According to the petitioner, it was receiving the bills excluding GST of the Sui Southern Gas Company which has acted in the arbitrary, illegally, unwarranted manner by depriving the petitioner from facility of zero-rated sales tax on gas.

Citing chairman FBR, the commissioner Inland Revenue,  chief manager of the Sui Southern Gas Company Ltd as respondents, the petitioner pleaded the SHC to set aside impugned said bills.
