KARACHI: The Sind High Court (SHC) granted protective bail to suspect namely Abid Hussain son of Ali Muhammad for seven days, who was absconding in mega sales tax fraud case.
Court also directed the above mentioned suspect to surrender before trial court and join investigations when required by investigation officer of the case. A single member bench heard the protective bail on August 9, 2018.
During the hearing, Asghar Ali Khan, advocate, counsel for the above mentioned accused sought protective bail enable him to appear before concerned trial court for seeking appropriate relief. He argued that applicant in innocent and has been falsely implicated in sales tax fraud case.
He further submitted that contention of counsel is that police has surrender the trial court as such it is made difficult for applicant to approach the trial court for getting appropriate relief as such he has appeared before this court for seeking protective bail.
After the hearing, court granted him bail and observed in its order that “without touching merits of the case, applicant is granted protective bail for seven days subject to furnishing solvent surety in the sum of Rs 50,000, protective bail shall remain in force for seven days from today or the date on which the applicant will surrender before the tail court, whichever is earlier”.
After the hearing, the suspect has submitted above mentioned amount of the surety before the court office and got court order for his protective bail.
