RIYADH: The total value of Saudi exports of national food products in 2014 reached SAR12.5 billion, according to the Central Department of Statistics & Information data, UAE-based Al Arabia.net reports.
The Department adds that the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region acquired the largest share of the Saudi exports of the national food products sector worth SAR11.6bn. Asia recorded SAR344 million of the total Saudi exports.
It is worth mentioning that more than 20 Saudi companies are participating in the 24th International Food Exhibition in Moscow, with the kingdom’s pavilion held by The Saudi Exports Development Authority (SEDA).
SEDA aims to activate and develop trade exchange by allowing more cooperation opportunities between producers and importers.
The Saudi Ambassador to Russia, Abdulrahman Al-Rassi, inaugurated the Saudi pavilion, which is participating for the second time in the International Food Exhibition.
The International Food Exhibition in Russia is considered one of the most specialised exhibitions in the food industry. More than 436 companies from 69 countries around the world participate in the exhibition. Last year saw over 50,000 visitors drop by the exhibition.
