TEHRAN: Russian Trade Minister Denis Manturov is going to travel to Tehran on December 19 to discuss expansion of bilateral ties.
On December 12, Tehran hosted Russia-Iran Trade and Industrial Dialogue where the two sides discussed ways to launch long-term joint ventures, and establish joint companies.
Earlier this month, Manturov said Russia wants to pursue closer industrial links with Iran.
He had said the two countries are efficiently cooperating in a variety of fields such as oil, gas, energy and metallurgy, in addition to vehicle, ship and aircraft manufacturing.
Last month, Russian President Vladimir Putin also visited Iran for the first time in almost a decade.
Russia was the 23rd leading importer of Iranian non-oil goods in the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-October 22), according to Iran Customs Administration.
Iran exported $92.52 million of non-oil goods to Russia and imported $329.86 million of non-oil products from the country in the seven-month period.
Also, Russia was the 18th major importer of Iranian non-oil goods in the previous Iranian calendar year, which ended on March 20, with importing $296.509 million of non-oil goods from Iran.
Russia exported $667.18 million of non-oil products to Iran in the past year.
