SIALKOT: Commercial Consul of Embassy of Russia in Pakistan Sergey Baranov has said that Russia is keen to establish stronger bilateral trade relations with Pakistan besides assuring of full cooperation from Russia to remove all the hurdles to ensure easy access to Sialkot-made export products across international trade markets of Russia and Central Asian markets.
He stated this while addressing a meeting of the Sialkot exporters held at the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI). SCCI President Zahid Latif Malik presided over the meeting. SCCI Vice-President Abid Ahmed Khawaja, Dr. Mariyam Nouman (Chairman SCCI’s Departmental Committee on Women Entrepreneurs), Waqas Akram Awa and others also attended the meeting.
Russian Consul said Russia is also keen to develop stronger Business-to-Business contacts between the businessmen of both Pakistan and Russia besides making sincere efforts to explore the mutual trade potential as well.
Sergey Baranov made this statement by visiting several leading industrial units in Sialkot on Wednesday.
He witnessed the production process of the sports goods and highly hailed the international standard’s craftsmanship of the Sialkot based artisans.
Addressing the meeting, SCCI President Zahid Latif Malik stressed the need for establishing a proper and well-planned “Banking Channel” between Pakistan and Russia saying mutual trade and business could never be developed without developing any proper banking system in Russia as well.
