WASHINGTON: Romania’s electricity exports totaled EUR 360 million last year, according to the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity.
The energy produced in Romania accounted for 12% of Bulgaria’s consumption, 6% of the consumption in Serbia, and 3% of that in Hungary, reports local Ziarul Financiar.
Romania exported 9.8 TWh worth of energy last year, down almost 5% compared to 2014. It sent some 4.1 TWh to Bulgaria, almost 3% less compared to 2014, which was worth EUR 150 million. The exports to Serbia dropped by 16% whereas the exports to Hungary increased by 7%.
