RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) welcomed the Economic Relief Package announced by the government. In a statement, President RCCI Saboor Malik said the business community was anxiously awaiting for this package.
The interest rate drops by a hundred and a half basic points. This will restore the confidence of the manufacturer and local investor. He said inflation would come down in purview of drop in Rs 15 per liter in petroleum products. He said that the immediate release of 100 billion refunds for exporters is very much appreciated. He expressed hope that similar relief package will be announced for the real estate and construction sector too soon.
He said that the Rawalpindi Chamber has also set up a fund in the wake of the Corona virus. Under this fund ration packets will be provided to the needy people, especially the daily wagers and the patients. Ration packets will include basic food items. In the present situation, everyone has to play his or her role. The Chamber’s move was to contribute to the government’s efforts to deal with the Corona virus, he added.
