RAWALPINDI: Excise and Taxation’s property branch has collected Rs 380 million in terms of property tax during the first quarter (July-September) of the current financial year 2015-16.
Talking to Customs Today, Excise and Taxation Officer Rawalpindi Shahid Iqbal told that Rs 960 million was assigned as target in the terms of property tax for the current financial year 2015-16 out of which Rs 380 million has been collected so far.
He said that “we have brought new housing societies in the tax net besides improving the tax billing system and issued computerized property tax forms.”
He said that 300,000 taxpayers have also been aware about taxes through SMS service. He added that SMS alert system and 5 percent concession rate attracted the taxpayer at large scale.
