QUETTA: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation foiled a bid to smuggle black & white plastic dana worth Rs11.50 million during special checking on Friday.
Sources told Customs Today that Director Customs Intelligence & Investigations Muhammad Akram Chaudhary received a tip-off that some smugglers are trying to smuggle black and white plastic dana from Quetta to neighbor country Afghanistan.
He constituted a raiding team under the supervision of Inspector Rizwan Ali Khan, Nasir Shaikh and others. The team enhanced the surveillance on Quetta Highway exit road and started searching of vehicles.
During the search operation, the team intercepted a truck bearing registration no: QLN-0845 which was going outside of Quetta. During the checking, the customs team recovered 200 packets of black and white plastic dana worth Rs11.50 million including truck being used in smuggling and arrested two smugglers.
Sources said current raid is the part of strong crackdown against Smuggling, announced by Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Muhammad Akram Chaudhary.
