QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) recovered huge quantity of non-duty paid goods during the month of October.
Sources told that Chief Collector Zulfiqar Ali Chaudhary lauded the performance of the Collectorate for foiling such attempts. Sources told that smuggled goods includes cloth, auto parts, cigarettes, diesel and non-duty paid vehicles. Sources told that after directions of Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO), Collectorate of Customs team destroyed many illegal petrol pumps in the jurisdiction.
Collector Preventive Dr. Iftikhar Ahmd also lauded the performance of the Collectorate and directed all anti-smuggling squads to adopt zero tolerance policy against smuggling. He directed that anyone who found involved in smuggling should be dealt with iron hands.
Chief Collector Zulfiqar Ali Chaudhary also directed anti-smuggling squads to use all available resources to curb smuggling attempts in the region. The Collectorate also adopted a comprehensive strategy to control smuggling.
