QUETTA: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation has foiled a bid to smuggle Iranian High Speed Diesel (HSD), brake oil and grease worth Rs4.42 million.
Sources told Customs Today that Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Muhammad Akram Chaudhary received a tip-off that some smugglers are trying to smuggle Iranian origin High Speed Diesel (HSD) and other things from Quetta to other cities.
He immediately constituted a raiding team under the supervision of Superintendent Shahid Shaikh and others. The team enhanced the surveillance near Balili Check Post and started searching of vehicles.
During the search operation, the team intercepted an oil tanker bearing registration no: QL-6271 which was going out of Quetta.
During the checking, the customs team recovered 22,000 liters Iranian diesel, some boxes of Iranian brake oil and some packets of grease worth Rs 4.42 million. The customs team seized diesel and other items include oil tanker and arrested three smugglers including a driver.
Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Quetta registered an FIR against the smugglers and started investigations.
