QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs Preventive, Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) team seized drugs worth Rs34 million of rupees at Noshki check post and also seized foreign cloth along with a vehicle.
According to details, Chief Collector Gul Rehman received information that unknown smugglers wanted to smuggle drugs as well as foreign goods.
The chief Collector passed on information to Collector Irfan Javed who directed Deputy Collector Amjad Hussain Rajpar, Superintendent Saleem Mandokhel and in-charge check post inspector Ali Ahmed Lehri who along with other customs officials to thwart any attempt of smuggling.
The customs team intercepted a Mazda truck and during search the squad found 5.40 kg of brown sugar plus o.996 kg of Ice sheesha alongwith clothes were recovered from the truck and seized while driver get advantage of darkness and escape from the scene.
According to the customs officials, the seized goods are worth crore of rupees, it should be noted that brown sugar is considered to be the most expensive drug in the world, which is similar to heroin and is taken by injection.
Talking with Customs Today Gul Rehman Chief Collector said that the Customs is working hard to stop the smuggling from different parts of Balochistan so that Balochistan can get rid of it and strengthen the country’s economy as well as the FBR goals can be crossed.
