QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement and Compliance (E&C) Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has seized six vehicles carrying smuggled Iranian diesel in quantity of 195000 liters worth Rs61.50 million.
Sources told that Collector Irfan Javed received credible information that huge quantity of smuggled Iranian diesel will be smuggled via Lakpass check post.
The Collector further told that upon directions of Chief Collector Gul Rehman to intensify the anti-smuggling drive, the Customs check post Lakpass with the assistance of Frontier Corps Balochistan has seized 195,000 liters Iranian Diesel loaded in six different transporting vehicles and oil tankers.
He said that seized vehicles and diesel’s total estimated value is Rs61.50 million whereas cases has been registered while further legal proceedings are still underway.
Earlier on November 4, Customs (E&C) and FC in a joint operation seized foreign smuggled goods and non-customs paid vehicles.
Collector Irfan Javed received credible information that huge quantity of non-duty paid goods will be smuggled. The customs and the FC jointly recovered foreign goods from different vehicles at Lakpass. In which cloth, tires, blankets, foreign diesel and dozens of non-customs vehicles and trucks were also seized.
