DOHA: Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB), Qatar’s leading Islamic Bank, is the Golden Sponsor of the 4th edition of the Entrepreneurship Business Conference and Products Exhibition, which is held by the Social Development Center NAMA, member of Qatar Foundation, at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center between the 21st and 25th of January 2019.
Sultan bin Rashid Al Khater, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, visited QIB’s pavilion at the exhibition and listened to an explanation about the advanced banking services offered by the Bank to SMEs. He praised the role played by QIB and said that the Bank is an essential supporter of SMEs in Qatar.
The event targets small and medium enterprises to enable them to access the local market and allow them to conduct their business and become competitive. The event also emphasizes the role of partners and sponsors in supporting SMEs and provides a platform for business entrepreneurs to connect with potential stakeholders.
“We are proud to partake in such an important event that aims to enhance the presence of SMEs in the national economy as well as strengthening the entrepreneurial environment in Qatar. This initiative is in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030 to move towards greater sustainability in all operations in Qatar, including business operations,” said Tarek Fawzi, General Manager of QIB’s Wholesale Banking Group.
Amal bint Abdul Latif al-Mannai, Nama Centre acting executive director, praised QIB for its Gold Sponsorship and said, “Qatar Islamic Bank is a long term strategic partner of the Social Development Center, and its partnership is not limited to contributing to this exhibition, but rather the Bank has a supportive role for the target groups, as it plays an important role in helping achieve our goals.” She added,
“QIB is the first financial institution that we reached out to for support for this exhibition as we are familiar with its legacy of energetically supporting such initiatives that serve the business sector in Qatar, and we look forward to the continuation of this partnership.” QIB will also be providing banking advisory and solutions during the exhibition for SMEs as part of the “Aamaly” package offered by the Bank, which is a comprehensive package designed to provide financing solutions, account and cash management, and trade services.
QIB has recently launched three banking solutions for its corporate and SME clients: Islamic Point of Sale (PoS), Wage Protection System (WPS) and a brand new Corporate Online Banking portal.
