Doha: Qatar Chamber’s First Vice-Chairman, Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Towar Al Kuwari, met with Sadik Hiris Warfa, Somalia’s Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, yesterday and discussed ways to enhance bilateral co-operation between both countries.
The Ambassador of Somalia to Qatar, Adbul Razzaq Farah Ali, attended the meeting.
Bin Towar stressed that Qatari private sector highly welcomes enhancing cooperation with its Somalian counterpart as well as establishing joint enterprises for the benefit of both sides.
He also noted that private sector companies contributed to implementing large scale projects being executed by the country, pointing out that this opens the scope for recruiting more Somali labourers.
On his part, the Somali Minister praised the Qatari cooperation with his country, noting that his visits aims to discuss enhancing trade relations and presenting investment opportunities available in Somalia and identifying cooperation in labourers’ qualification and developing their skills.
He also introduced investment opportunities available in Somalia in many sectors including agriculture, livestock and fish, calling Qatari investors to invest in his country to create more jobs for Somali youth.
