LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Communication & Works Sardar Muhammad Asif Nakai on Tuesday said the Punjab government was committed to composite development of the province and quality construction would be ensured in the projects.
He chaired the third meeting of the Provincial Steering Committee on Rural Accessibility Programme “Naya Pakistan-Manzilen Asan” in the Committee Room of C&W here.
Secretary C&W Sheharyar Sultan informed the participants about the prioritized roads identified by the Divisional Commissioners under the programme. He said that prioritized schemes of roads’ construction had been identified in all the divisions.
Giving detail, he said that 11 in Rawalpindi division, 24 in Gujranwala, 21 in Sargodha, 10 in Lahore, 19 in Faisalabad, 11 in Sahiwal, 20 in Multan, 22 in Bahawalpur and 28 schemes were identified in DG Khan Division. After careful consideration, members of the committee approved the schemes identified by the DCCs.
Member Planning & Development Abid Bodla, Chief Engineer Highway North Shafqat Ali Butar, Chief Engineer Highway Central Nayyar Saeed and officials from Finance Department and Local Government also attended the meeting.
