LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday took notice of the petrol crisis in the province and insisted the Federal government to reinstate the supply of CNG to dispel the suffering of customers.
According to sources, it was decided earlier in November 2014, that gas would not be provided to CNG stations and other industries in Punjab from November 15, 2014 to March 15, 2015.
However, in an emergency meeting today between Shahbaz Sharif and Federal Minister for Petroleum Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, it was decided that the CNG supply throughout the province be resumed to the stations with immediate effect.
According to Ghiyas Abdullah Paracha, chairman of the Supreme Council of All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA), the order to resume supply to stations has been given by Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL).
Paracha said that the CNG stations in Potohar Region are already being opened.
