LISBON: The Customs official stated that they have seized 324,000 liters of red wine in an operation in different locations.
The investigation began when it was discovered that an establishment in northern Portugal was found to be serving a “muscatel type” wine decanted from a five liter bottle into branded bottles of wine which was then passed off as the content matching the labels. The red wine was found to have an abnormal flavor and was classed as damaged produce, leading to the seizures being required.
