LISBON: The reality is harsh yet it is to be accepted that Portugal is a country which is the “transition, origin and destination for human trafficking” as this reality has been affirmed by the president of the commission for the support of victims of people trafficking in a radio interview.
Sister Júlia Barroso told Rádio Renascença that when the commission began “people said there was no trafficking here, that this was just a place of transition”.
Data now shows this to be far from the truth.
