KARACHI: Four ships C.V CMA CGM Balzac, C.V Delmas Swala, C.V Maersk Denver and M.T Atlantic Miracle carrying containers and chemicals were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively at Port Qasim on Wednesday, port sources said here on Thursday.
Meanwhile three more ships M.T Al-Salam-II, M.T Lahore and M.T Lumphini Park carrying diesel oil and phosphoric acid also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours. Berth occupancy was observed at 50 percent at the Port on Wednesday, where seven ships namely C.V CMA CGM Balzac, C.V Delmas Swala, C.V CMA CGM Debussy, M.T Alpine Loyalty, M.T Global Vika, M.T Atlantic Miracle and M.V Equator Harmony occupied PQA berths to load/ offload containers, crude oil, palm oil, chemicals and coal respectively.
A cargo volume was handled at the Port at 96,774 tons, comprising 37,670 tons imports and 59,104 tons exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,936 containers (TEUs) (981 imports and 1,955 exports TEUs) during last 24 hours.
Container vessel `CMA CGM Balzac’ sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while another container ships `Maersk Denver’ and oil tanker `Alpine Loyalty’ are expected to sail on same day afternoon.
