WARSAW: Polish April retail sales fell by 1.5% against the prior year period, on a 2.1% monthly decrease, the Central Statistics Office GUS said.The PAP Polish news agency analyst survey had shown consensus expectations for annual growth of 1.0% and a monthly increase of 0.5%.
In real terms, Polish retail sales were up by 1.5% in April after a 6.6% y/y growth in March, GUS also said. Prices in retail stores fell by 3.0% y/y in April, GUS data show.
