WARSAW: According to a release by the EU statistics office Eurostat Polish retail sales increased by 8.7% year on year in March 2015, accelerating from 8.3% growth in February, and edged up by 1.5% month on month.
Poland’s Central Statistics Office (GUS) earlier reported an annual retail sales increase of 3.0% in March on a monthly jump of 17.4%. In contrast to the Polish data, Eurostat data include stores with a headcount below ten employees and exclude automotive sales. Eurostat annual growth figures are working-day adjusted, while the monthly growth figures are seasonally adjusted.
